Community Blogging - How it works

Entries can be made very easily to a blog from a simple form within a web page. The postings are listed in reverse chronological order on a month by month basis to make it easy for people to follow.

When a comment is made to any posting, an email is automatically sent (with the content of the comment) to the person who made the original posting. Comments can be hidden by the person who submitted the original posting.

Multiple Blogs

Community Blogging is ideal if you require multiple blogs (for a number of individuals or groups within your organisation) to be shown within the same web site.

Blog Coordinators

Each blog has a coordinator allocated to it. They are responsible for specifying which people are able to post entries to it. They can also hide or edit any postings that have been made.

Public and Private Blogs

Public blogs can be seen by anyone who visits your web site.

Private blogs can be created so that only those who are permitted to join in can login to view and post entries. Private blogs can be configured so that an email is automatically sent to each member of the blog whenever a posting is made. This serves as a proactive notification that a fellow member has posted an entry. Managers or team leaders often find private blogs useful in communicating with each other.

Personal Blogs

Personal blogs can be setup where the owner of the blog is the only person permitted to post entries to it. These are ideal for individuals who wish to be included within an organisation's online community.

Integration Within an Existing Web Site

Community Blogs can be easily integrated into your current web site so that they retain the existing look and feel.

You can see an example of how Community Blogging is being used at Bristol Vineyard Church.
